At that time, economy in Japan enjoyed the bubble boom. NSX became so popular that the new cars had been fully booked until 3 years ahead when it was first released, and the used cars were traded at the prices higher than those of new cars.

Moreover, since it was made-to-order only and most of the manufacturing processes were done manually, it took two to three months and a half to deliver new cars.

The engine was changed from 3 liter to 3.2 liter in 1997, and the transmission was improved from 5-speed to 6 speed.
